Abstract

The present study covers the possibilities of computer CAD (solid) design for the development of ASTM A36 Steel and DIN Steel (Alloyed) 1.6587 (18CrNiMo7-6) pipes, applying environmental and technical standards. The models are developed using SolidWorks Software which provides the ability to study the three-dimensional geometry of environmental friendliness through the specialized application Sustainability based on life cycle assessment (LCA). In real time, the models are tested for resilience in a computer environment, and data on environmental impact are obtained containing values of carbon footprint, energy consumption, air acidification and water eutrophication. The analysis includes data on material, manufacturing, use and end of life. The process of obtaining the data of mass properties of the three-dimensional geometry at the stage of computer 3D design is automated. A logistics plan is made through the selection of regional and transport principles. The present study gives a thorough overview how to apply modern technical means to optimize the concept of design—environmental friendliness—logistics.

Abstract

Complete recovery of the human dental jaw is a challenge for dentists and dental technicians. The process is complex and requires proper treatment methodology, where emphasis is put on the patient, and application of modern technologies in design in terms of software and additive technologies. The biocompatible materials are also essential. The present study shows a complete concept for restoration of human dental jaw using titanium alloys Ti6Al4V and Ti-6Al-7Nb for dental implants, and zirconium ZrO2 material for the coronal visible part of the teeth. The research presents in detail an advanced work methodology, modern technological means, and consideration of the human factor guaranteeing quality results and successful dental health care for the needs of complex clinical cases, such as restoration of complete dental jaws. The presented treatment process is of great importance for dental health care and all stakeholders.

HEDY - Life in the AI era is a 2-year Erasmus+ project started in November 2021 targeting higher education audience. Its goal is to offer a comprehensive and shared view of how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is affecting our lives and reshaping our socioeconomic, cultural, and human environments and to define which topics related to AI are of interest to different university studies and how they should be addressed. Four specific free and accessible sources of information will be produced to reach these goals, the first of which is the Booklet, the subject of this paper. The Booklet is an essay defining the HEDY position on life in the AI era and its aim is to identify the challenges, opportunities and expected impact of AI on four different areas: business, governance, skills & competencies, and people & lifestyle. In this paper, we summarise the content of the Booklet. In particular, we describe our methodology to build our rationales based on collecting information from two sources: i) Literature survey, and ii) Focus groups. These two sources provide a unique contribution on AI panorama by combining state of the art research with first-hand opinions and debated questions, concerns, and ideas of interacting individuals. The main finding is that there is the necessity to train citizens in AI by providing teachings, courses and trainings in schools and higher education institutes to facilitate the use and adoption of AI for young people and future generations.

HEDY - LIFE IN THE AI ERA. BOOKLET.
AN ESSAY ON THE LIFE IN THE AI ERA

Careglio, Davide;  Alves Moreira, Ana Isabel;  Angulo Bahón, Cecilio; Casaccio, Federica;  Dimova, Rozalina;  Dovramadjiev, Tihomir;  Jakobi, Antonia;  Kollar, Csaba; Sukhovii, Ievgeniia;  Szabo, Gyula. HEDY Booklet - Life in the AI era. DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.7426885, December 12, 2022

HEDY - Life in the AI era is a 2-year Erasmus+ project started in November 2021 (https://lifeintheaiera.eu/).  HEDY project stands for being a free and accessible source of information regarding the digital technologies of the 4th industrial revolution (Industry 4.0), namely AI, by enlightening its possible positive future applications, whilst clarifying the possible impacts.

Four specific objectives will be produced to reach this goal: 1) a Booklet; 2) a Toolkit; 3) a Massive Open Online Course; 4) a Guideline. In this document, we present the Booklet.

The Booklet is an essay defining the HEDY position on life in the AI era and the rational for that position. In this work, we describe and present the results of our two-fold approach to build our rational about the challenges, opportunities and expected impact of AI on four areas: business, governance, skill & competencies, and people & lifestyle. This two-fold approach consists of collecting information from two sources: i) Literature survey, and ii) Interaction with people. Clearly, the first source consists of collecting the current state of knowledge about the impact of AI. The second source was a mixed approach consisting of both questionnaires and focus groups conducted in five different European countries with either experts or non-experts in AI. These two sources provide a unique contribution on AI panorama by combining state of the art research with different social actors’ opinions and debated questions, concerns, and ideas.
